Building resilient infrastructure, promoting sustainable industrialization and encouraging innovation

The modern age has brought an accelerated way of life. Only countries that encourage innovation in addition to resilient infrastructure and a sustainable industry can be competitive in this era. These three aspects are, of course, interconnected.

Modern infrastructure is vital for economic growth, ie sustainable infrastructure is the basis of a sustainable industry. Moreover, innovation is essential for an efficient and sustainable industry. Therefore, innovation is indispensable from the perspective of competitiveness, in the 21st century.

Targets:

9.1 Develop quality, reliable, sustainable and strong infrastructure, including regional and cross-border infrastructure, to support economic development and people's well-being, with a focus on broad and equitable access for all.

9.2 Promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization and, by 2030, significantly increasing the employment rate and Gross Domestic Product in industry, according to national circumstances, and doubling this share in the least developed countries

9.3 Increasing the access of small and industrial enterprises, especially in developing countries, to financial services, including affordable credit, and their integration into value chains and external markets

9.4 By 2030, modernize infrastructure and rehabilitate industries to become sustainable, increase resource efficiency and adopt clean and environmentally friendly technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in line with their respective capabilities.

9.5 Strengthen scientific research, modernize the technological capabilities of industrial sectors in all countries, especially developing countries, by 2030; encouraging innovation and significantly increasing the number of employees in research and development per 1 million inhabitants and public and private spending on research and development.
